For leaders and practitioners working at the forefront of community sport and physical activity, focused on growing participation and access at a grass-roots level.

This Peer Circles session, hosted by Stuart Maidment, Parks Support Manager within the Tennis Development Team at the Lawn Tennis Association (LTA), creates space to openly discuss the most pressing challenges facing grass-roots sport today – and how they might be addressed.

Together, you’ll explore:

  • The key barriers to increasing participation, including access, facilities, funding, and engagement
  • Practical approaches to reaching underrepresented communities and sustaining long-term involvement
  • The role of local partnerships, parks, and community infrastructure in enabling participation growth

Peer Circles are small, discussion-driven sessions designed to foster honest dialogue, shared learning, and practical insight.

Member Host: Stuart Maidment, Parks Support Manager within the Tennis Development Team at the Lawn Tennis Association (LTA) - Stuart will facilitate an open, peer-led discussion shaped by his experience supporting parks and community-based tennis delivery across the UK. Drawing on real-world challenges and successes, he will guide participants in sharing insights on what is - and isn’t - working at a grass-roots level, encouraging practical, collaborative thinking around how participation barriers can be overcome through local action and partnership.
