Membership Rules

Leaders Club Terms and Conditions

The Leaders Club (the “Club”) is owned by Leaders Group Holdings LLC and operated jointly by Leaders in Sports and the Sports Business Journal (collectively, “Leaders”, “us” or “we”).

By completing and submitting your application for membership to the Club, you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions, the Club website Terms of Use, Cookie Notice, and Privacy Policy, and any other rules made available to members from time to time on the website or in email or other communications from us (collectively, the “Club Rules”).

If you do not adhere to the Club Rules, then you may be asked to resign your membership.

You may join as part of a group membership purchased by your employer or other organization (“Group Member”) or as an individual (“Individual Member”). All Club Rules apply to Group Members and Individual Members unless specifically mentioned below or in the separate agreement between Leaders and the employer or other organization of Group Members (“Company Agreement”).

Your Eligibility
You hereby confirm that you meet the following criteria:

  • You work in the sports industry
  • You have a minimum of seven (7) years professional experience
  • You’ve reached Manager level or above

If you, at anypoint from becoming a Club member, no longer meet the eligibility criteria above,your membership will be stopped.

Building the Network
The bigger the Club network grows, the greater the value for everyone, so we welcome all members inviting a colleague, friend or industry peer to join a session.

In the spirit of the Club and for those that have paid for membership, a non-member can join only one in-person event or virtual session for free.

Your Membership Term

Group Members
The start and end dates for Group Members are governed by the Company Agreement. If your employer/organization has not paid for your membership within forty-five (45) days after invoice, your membership will be stopped.

Individual Members
For Individual Members, your membership will commence on the Membership Start Date and expire on the Membership End Date stated in your ‘Welcome to the Leaders Club’ email. 

If your membership is not paid within forty-five (45) days after your Membership Start Date, your membership will be stopped.

Refund Policy
Memberships for Individual Members are non-refundable, unless wediscontinue the Club, in which casewe willprovide apro-rata refund to you for the remaining months of your membership.  Refunds for Group Members are governed by their Company Agreement.

Upgrading Your Membership
As stated in the Company Agreement, Group Members can always add a new member for a pro rata fee increase that accounts for the months left in the applicable Term.

Transferring Your Membership
Individual Members may not transfer their membership. Group Members are subject to the transfer provisions set forth in the applicable Company Agreement.

Approving Applications
We willreview all applications promptly upon receipt. Whether yourapplication is unsuccessful or not,we willnotify you by email.  We reserve the right to reject your application if you do not meet the eligibility criteria or for any other reason within our reasonable discretion.

Membership Database
It is important for us to have your current details. You represent and warrant that all information provided is accurate, complete, and up-to-date.

Your details, including all personal information you provide, will be stored on the membership database and you agree that it may be used by us in accordance with our Privacy Policy, which you can view here.

Club Attire
Unless specifically stated, there is no dress code, we want you to wear what you feel is going to be appropriate and you will be comfortable in. All that we ask is that you are considerate of others in what you choose to wear.

Confidentiality

  • To help everyone make the most of their membership and feel comfortable to share at all times, we want to create a safe environment, which means we observe Chatham House Rules in all sessions and workshops. 
  • Sessions are not recorded and cannot be shared after the event has taken place. 
  • Individual speakers will not be quoted verbatim and members may not post recordings or quotes across their personal social media channels or elsewhere.  
  • We will, however, synthesise notes to share key takeaway and discussion points with members who were unable to attend, as well as, on occasion, share a high-level summary of key discussions in marketing materials. On those occasions we will not attribute discussions to any individual person or organisation. 
  • To support members in making new connections, lists of members organisation and job titles will from time-to-time be shared ahead of in-person events and virtual sessions. These lists are shared in confidence with members, and should not be shared. 

Selling your Services
The Club is not a forum for selling your services. The aim of the membership is to help accelerate your personal and professional development and develop personal and career critical relationships. We of course understand better than anyone, that building relationships can lead to business, organically, which is a fantastic bi-product of the membership but is not the purpose.

Your Commitment to Attending
We want to ensure that you have the best Club experience possible, and it’s our members (you) that help create the experience. Please let us know if youre unable to attend an event, or online session as soon as possible so we can plan accordingly.

Club Events
While you are a member, we may ask you to give your views of, and experiences of the Club, which we may use to improve the experience for all. We may also film, video or photograph our member events and activities for use in our membership programs, as well as advertising, promotions, public relations, and other commercial or business purposes. If you take part in these interviews or events, you agree to us using your name, image, likeness and limited other information. You also consent to us publishing any materials produced by, or for, us for any purpose without your further consent, and you waive your right to receive any payment from us in connection with such publication.
